I am more of a home-body. I like to go out on occassion. I have places and countries I would love to visit. But I am NOT one of these people that types in their profile that I'm looking for someone to explore the world with. No offense intended, I'm simply saying I'm not like that. I like the comfort of knowing I will be going home and sleeping in my bed with my babies (dogs) in the room and even on the bed with me. I was married for ten years. Now I've been divorced for ten years. Both have had their pros and their cons.

I have three large dogs. They are my family - seriously. I am only able to focus on my life if I know they are taken care of. I bought a car based on would they fit - I buy/rent homes based on if they will be safe, secure, and happy in the house/yard/neighborhood. Once I know they are taken care of I carry on with "me" things. I'm an independent 20 year old college junior. I'm attending the University of Arizona and majoring in veterinary science and minoring in chemistry. Movies, books, travel and warm tropical oceans are great. Just saw The Soloist, it was very good. Suspense, action, drama and select comedies are of interest.

I work 4 full days a week, with a three day weekend.

For relaxation I like to watch the sunset or sit outside in the late afternoon or evening with a glass of wine and good companion.

I'm a professional artist/muralist and I pay all the bills with it. The thing about defining yourself is that you are also defined by the things that you are not. It's not just the positive, or the negative, it's all of it, and because it's you, it's neither positive or negative. And is that really you?

See, I could go on forever with that. My name is Tyler. I'm a philosophy major, and I have a hard time defining myself because I have yet to answer what "self" is. I surf, I love photography, I love reading, writing and movies. I'm a person who belives in Truth, and wants to find it. I like philosophy, psychology, religion (but I'm not religious) and sociology. I find that people are inevitably flawed, and I'm slowly coming to terms with that. I don't trust people easily and I have had many problems with relationships because of that, and other factors. The most uncomfortable thing for me to be doing is what I am doing right now, looking for a relationship over the internet. It feels strange and out of place. But I thought I'd try anyway.

I'm a very upfront person, and most of the time let people know what I think of them very clearly and honestly, which sometimes gets me in trouble. I don't like secrets, lies or manipulation, which I'm sure most people dislike, as well, but it's very serious for me. I read into things, friends and family say a little too much, but I feel that an action, opinion, or reaction says a lot more about a person than most people are willing to admit, and because of this, there aren't many people that I consider "friends." I know a lot of people, (in San Diego, I'm new to Tucson, so I don't know many) but I consider most of them only aquaintances rather then friends. But the few friends that I do have hold about them a certain spark. They are each as real as they can possibly be, and that's something I respect and do my best to emulate. I'm very open about who I am, if you ask. Although I know everyone puts up a certain front when they first meet and are getting to know someone, I do my best not to. I don't like masks, and do my best to be the same person around everyone I meet, regardless of "status," "reputation," or otherwise.

I'm a very laidback person, I'm not a person who does or buys things that I don't need, I don't think that money has to be spent to have a good time, and I absolutely hate high-maintainence girls. My life is very simple, and I prefer it that way. I'm also a very detached person, which causes quite a lot of people (including family members) to feel that I am unemotional. But trust me, I am. I just know that there are certain things that people react to that are better left completely alone. Don't sweat the small stuff, as they say.

I am studying for a PhD in the atmospheric sciences. Since nobody seems to know what the atmosphere is when I say that, I'll give you a hint. It's not astrology nor astronomy. It's just a fancy, broader term that most people would call meteorology. If you care, I'm looking at the differences in physical properties of cloud clusters that develop into hurricanes compared to those that don't using satellite imagery.

I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do, I like to watch movies. Casablanca is the best movie of all time, followed closely by Citizen Kane. I am fond of most classic movies. Newer movies all seem to be about blood, action, or shock value, and not about telling a story about characters. That doesn't mean I don't like newer movies. In fact, I love pretty much all science fiction.

Outside of my research and movies, I like to run, work out, ride bicycle, and watch sports on television. I don't particularly follow any sport or team, I just like watching the competition. In no particular order, professional sports that I enjoy watching include: baseball, softball, hockey, football, volleyball, soccer, women's basketball. I don't like watching men's professional basketball, but college is fine.

I believe in parallel universes- to the extent that I believe my self-destructive impulses are due to the other versions of myself trying to either kill me (And all of the other versions of myself in all other universes) so that theyâ??re the only ones left or it is a defense mechanism used by my own subconscious trying to rid the universes of the other Josaâ??s to validate itâ??s own existence and singular beingâ?¦ in my mind itâ??s like a bare knuckle boxing tournament on a garbage barge, but instead of fists the combatants use suicide and accidental car crashes and fits of manic rage to off one anotherâ?¦ and like Highlander â??There can be only one!â??

I also leave the oven on a lot, mostly out of forgetfulness and my sporadic attention to random things like shadows and dripping waterâ?¦ but other than that Iâ??m very focusedâ?¦ and in recent months and years I think that subconsciously I leave the oven on to contribute to global warming, simply to piss off hippies. On the note of hippies: I like badass scientists, chain smoking, hard drinking, full of themselves, opinionated: right wrong or indifferent bastards with world changing theories and condemnation of their dissenters. I hate those tree hugging, vegetarian, shorts and fanny pack wearing, sandals and socks, agreeing to disagree PANSIES!!!

I enjoy my work immensely, which is teaching energy medicine and healing to others, including medical professionals. I also give private sessions to those who need healing, in person or over distance/phone. Lets see. I would summarize myself thusly. I always believed that I would find someone, I would like them and they would like me and bam! My life is complete!

Its not quite working out like that. When I was a kid I used to think writing a love letter and finding cool ways to send them to girls was romantic. Like writing a note, Scrunching it up so the teacher thought it was trash and tossing it to them.

I've had a few girlfriends, only one serious. I would say that I know how to have fun but when it comes to dating I suck. I try really hard but never got a lot of practice so it always comes out kinda corny, like holding doors, and yes I was raised to pay for the dates and whatnot.

Trying to find myself in life. I have a lot of sides to me. I'm mostly introverted, but I can be extroverted at times. I have a few close friends who I like to go out with. I'm really into sports, I have my pilots license so I daydream about flying a lot, I write, I love reading psych and horror books, listen to a wide variety of tunages.
